Microblading is an aesthetic procedure undertaken to enhance the appearance of the face by targeting areas of the eyebrow that have been over plucked or where hair is naturally sparse. The procedure involves the use of a nanoblade to deposit pigment just beneath the epidermal layer of the skin, this is much closer to the surface of the skin than standard tattooing, therefore microblading is classed as a semipermanent makeup technique.
The price you pay for microblading includes a telephone consultation if this is something you feel would be of use, a patch test posted to your house, your initial microblading appointment, an aftercare ointment and then also a top up appointment 4-8 weeks after initial appointment is also included in the price.
This can vary, but usually a microblading appointment takes between 1.5-2.5 hours.
I like to think of Microblading as a 2-step process to perfect eyebrows. At the initial appointment we work on creating a shape perfect for you. Some of the hairstrokes can fade a little after this appointment so a top up is recommended to encourage pigment retention in areas that may have faded, from this top up appointment your eyebrows should last between 1-2 years.
Microblading lasts between about 1-2 years, however results vary depending on skin type, age, and compliance with aftercare advice. After about a year microblading begins to fade and will usually have completely faded by 3 years, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Everyone has different pain thresholds, I like to keep my clients as comfortable as possible which is why I unlike many others I have invested in not only a strong primary numbing cream to apply prior to commencing your treatment, but also a secondary numbing gel that is applied throughout the treatment to maintain numbness. My clients say that any pain if at all is very mild and that the secondary numbing gel helps significantly.
Please let me put you at ease. Despite being a Midwife I also dislike these things, however your microblading session will be relaxing and with very minimal discomfort. I can help you with distraction techniques and am very good with nervous clients.
My priority is your wellbeing and safety, a patch test is highly recommended to prevent an unexpected allergic reaction or anaphylaxis. Patch tests don't guarantee that you won't have an allergic reaction but will predict some cases. Please make me aware of any allergies you have or any family history of allergic reaction to pigments used in semipermanent makeup.
Microblading is a safe treatment but there are some instances where it is not suitable, it also is important to let me know of any medical history not mentioned on this list to ensure it is safe for you to undergo treatment:
Microblading is a relatively safe procedure, but like all cosmetic treatments carries some risks. The main risks are allergic reactions which are pretty rare, and in most cases are mild, however in rare cases could result in anaphylaxis. Another risk of microblading, is developing an infection; the blades used at Fleek and Fluff are sterile and single use, I adhere to strict infection control measures to ensure I mitigate against this risk, however, aftercare which is your responsibility also involves protecting your eyebrows from infection. Microblading carries a small risk of scarring, this is more likely in those who suffer from psoriasis, eczema and acne particularly when located near the treatment area or those who have a history of keloid scarring. Neglected aftercare increases the risk of scarring.
I only perform top ups for my own clients, previous work that is not my own will be classed as a new microblading treatment and will be charged at full price regardless of when the initial session was performed by a previous artist.
